NLD was founded in October 2010 and follows the Thanjavur & Vazhuvoor style of Bharatanatyam. At NLD, we take pride in preserving the traditional roots of this divine art. We are strong believers of the Guru-Shishya Parampara and strive to preserve the authenticity of our art and culture. The core techniques and values of this art are imparted to eager learners in a focused setting. Every student and parent makes NLD what it is today and I am ever grateful to the Lord, my Gurus and my well-wishers for this blessing.
2025 - 15th Year of Nritya Laya Darpan
Nritya Laya Darpan ~ Reflecting The Art of Dance & Rhythm, an institution that was very passionately founded by Sudha Krishnan completes 15 years of standing for its principles and vision with regards to the art form and aspires to continue holding on to these core values for decades to come. This milestone most definitely calls for a grand celebration to reminisce old memories and make fresh ones that we can look back and reflect upon. What better way than making what was once a dream, a reality.
I have worked on a few thematic productions, however this would be my first one with my school & students. Work has already started on this and as momentum picks up excitement is surely to grow. Picture speaks a 1000 words and this one for our 15th is no different. This mega production will premier on Saturday, 30th August 2025 from 5 PM onwards at Dublin High School.

NLD presents 11th Arangetram by Aahna Thottempudi
Arangetram is a by-product of hard work and passion. When it is the right time for a student to take on this leap and bring their best foot forward, the moment marks a huge stepping stone in the learning journey to embrace and grow into the art form. It brings me immense pleasure to present yet another student for Arangetram this year - Aahna Thottempudi on Sunday, 3rd August, 2025. I request all students and NLD families to save this date and be there to cheer and support us. Aahna is a promising dancer with expressions that reflect her passion. Watching such dedicated seniors take up the center stage and to witness it first hand is a great inspiration for young aspiring learners. I strongly encourage for all students to definitely not miss it this year.
